In 1999 the young farmer Klaus Castlunger was fascinated by these majestic animals, and so he decided to breed red deer and fallow deer. The deer of the deer park Sompunt are the first bio certified BIOLAND deer in South Tyrol and in Italy. The wildpark became sort of symbol for the breeding and the protection of a species that has to fight for its life in a world that keeps changing.
Starting from the restaurant “Paraciora” and following an easy marked path, you can admire these wild animals living in uncontaminated nature. The route is indicated by arrows and information boards on which you will find some information about the park and its majestic inhabitants. We ask you to stay on the marked path and to respect the meadows.

It takes you 20 min to do the trail, even with trekking strollers.
Every Tuesday from 1st July till 1st October from 10:00am until 11:00am.
The deer park includes more than 7 hectares of meadows and forest where more than 30 species of deer and fallow deer live together in harmony.
No, it's not necessary to book, you can visit the deer park at any time.
The tour is free.
Dogs are welcome, please keep them on a leash with a 2 meters distance to the fence.
More than the half of the path is easy to do, we suggest to use a trekking stroller.
We meet at the Paraciora hut at 10:00am and we are going to be back at 11:00am. Only with Lukas is it possible to get closer to the deer.
The idea of the deer park was to bring people, who are visiting Alta Badia, closer to nature. When our guests admire the deer, they learn about wildlife and start to look at it in a different way.
